Annual Turkey Drive

Saturday, November 14 ~ 10 am – 1 pm

Waterbury Area Food Shelf ~ 57 South Main Street

For over a decade, the Waterbury Area Food Shelf has provided Thanksgiving turkeys and a bag with traditional meal fixings to those in our community in need of assistance. The Waterbury Rotary Club has helped hold the annual Turkey Drive for the past 2 years in order to ensure that we can continue supporting our friends and neighbors who need some help. This year, we expect to distribute around 120 meals!

So, bring those frozen turkeys to the Food Shelf at 57 South Main Street on Saturday, November 14th. You do not even have to get out of your car! We will gladly take them through the window. In 2019, we collected 126 turkeys, setting an all time record! If you are so inclined, other donations such as monetary gifts, non-perishables, and perishable holiday items such as hams or cheese are welcome and appreciated.

Many thanks to Village Market for storing many of our turkeys in their freezers, S T Paving, and Bourne’s Energy for their ongoing support of the event. And of course, thanks to you, for continuing to show what a truly caring and supportive community the town of Waterbury has!

Concerts in the Park

A community favorite. Join us every Thursday from June - August in Rusty Parker Memorial Park for awesome music and free Ben & Jerry's ice cream (Bring your own bowl for an extra scoop).

NQID

(Not Quite Independence Day) Parade, music, bites & brews, fireworks and more. A Waterbury tradition and our largest fund raiser for all our community doings. Held annually on the Saturday before Independence Day.

Sunzilla

Start those sunflowers off early - the search for the tallest sunflower is on! Held annually on the second Thursday in September.

Santa on Stowe Street

Santa stops by each year in early December to spread some holiday cheer with cookies, activities, and horse-drawn wagon rides.

Pie For Breakfast

Pie for Breakfast happens every year in February. Folks sample dozens of sweet and savory pies while raising funds for the Youth Exchange and other Rotary programs.

Chili & Maple Cook-Off

The Waterbury Rotary Club plans to sponsor a Chili & Maple Dessert Cook-Off to celebrate the great cooks in our community and to share great food with our friends and neighbors.

Easter Parade & Egg Hunt

The annual Waterbury Easter Parade and Egg Hunt starts at Thatcher Brook Primary School with a parade led by the Easter Bunny and Waterbury Fire Department. The parade finishes at Pilgrim Park with an egg hunt. Free family fun!
